So here comes the post of one of my favourite places in Toronto! Sorry if it's just too obvious, but the Distillery District is just lovely! Actually I liked all the neighbourhood, because I took a loooooooooong walk from the west side of the city until there, so I must also say that the surroundings are great too! ♥

TORONTO - CHINA TOWN
quinta-feira, 7 de novembro de 2019
Just a TBT to say I miss Toronto! It's hard to believe it's been more than a month already!
China Town is huge! Hard to say already where the neighborhood started or ended... With many (cool) stores which sell basically everything and beautiful lights at night! =)
And not only there, but in the whole Toronto the feeling is that the city's 2nd language is Chinese and not French... XD
Looking forward the next summer!

TORONTO - CASA LOMA
domingo, 27 de outubro de 2019
"House of Casa Loma"... For a person who speaks Portuguese it was a bit annoying that people in Canada kept saying "house of"Casa Loma, because casa already means house. XD
Anyways, what a beautiful castelllll...! From the City Pass, this was probably the attraction I wanted to see the most. Because I love Architecture, History and X-men! hahahahaha
The weather this day was probably the worst I got during my whoooole trip, it was rainning a lot, but at least I got a chance to meet a really nice guy! My Uber driver was a guy born in Montreal, but that spent many years in Africa before coming back to Canada. He told me a lot about his love for Toronto and how the city is the perfect place for the ones who have dreams. Because in Toronto nothing is impossible. It was quite inspiring. =)
The Halloween attraction wasn`t ready though. =(
TORONTO - AGO
quinta-feira, 24 de outubro de 2019
AGO has probably the most tempting shop of all the galleries and museums... The books! OMG, the books!!! Because, yes, I`m the kind of person who starts a visit by entering the shop. WHY? So I have time to process all the cravings I get.... And the books in Canada are so much cheaper than in Brazil! =,(
The Art Gallery of Ontario does have a little bit of everything and it`s huge. So huge it feels bad to call it a gallery and not a museum. o_o
Their inventory of beautifully crafted is objects is what got my attention the most.... Mamma mia! ♥

Calvin Klein F/W 2017
segunda-feira, 5 de fevereiro de 2018
Today I'm doing just a quick post to talk about my illustration for Draw A Dot's Calvin Klein F/W 2017 open call.
The F/W 2017 was the Raf Simons debut with CK... “What will Raf do?” has been the refrain since he signed on the dotted line last August. The house of Calvin has its own codes: primarily American minimalism and a provocative sort of sensuality.
The collection is full of Americanisms: including brightly colored band uniforms, Wall Street suits, sheriff’s jackets, quilting on some terrific parkas and metal-tipped cowboy boots.
They devoted a fair bit of attention to the great American plastic couch cover, slipping transparent plastic over everything from plaid tailoring to a sensational yellow-gold fur coat and feathered cocktail numbers.
Strange. But it’s such a weird idea, it just may catch on. Calvinisms got their attention, too. Male and female models wore varsity sweaters with sheer torsos in a technical knit that looked lifted from the world of shapewear, a tricky look for both genders. Brooke Shields’s famous silhouette was stamped on the leather label on the back waistband of jeans.
This last look was the one I decided to pick up to create my illustration. It has bold colors and is the kind of look you can't not notice it's from USA. Very American, very CK.
Some points I wanted to express: the perspective - the model is confiant and at the top; and the music. Yes, the music. The scenography and the music of a fashion show can tell a lot about the mood of the fashion designer, things that maybe we wouldn't be able to notice just watching the models walking by wearing the looks - the song for this runway was: This Is Not America, by Pat Metheny Group (David Bowie's), which is also the theme song of the movie The Falcon And The Snowman. So, all the writing in the illustration are parts of the song lyrics, because after watching the runway is impossible not to get the song stuck in your head. Which is annoying, but still good! ♥
And before I'm called crazy by anyone, here's the show. Try not to sing sha la la la la...
So, every open call, from all the submited illustrations, 9 are picked up as highlights and shared on Draw A Dot's Instagram account. And, as I said before here, I had one of my illustrations posted there once, by it didn't reach the top 9. Yet, it was to great that I couldn't even remember about the top 9. lol
That's why I wasn't expecting at all when I was tagged not only by Draw A Dot, buy also by Marcus Kan (who owns not only Draw a dot but also Toronto Designers Market)! Think about someone over the moon. Yup, that was me! ♥
And I thought it was over. But last week I found out there was an article in Draw A Dot about this illustration: "I really like the perspective of this piece. The girl looks amazing in that outfit and I really like the words as they add a pop art vibe to the piece! Overall, I am liking this illustration a lot and I am still wondering if she is actually inside a building or out at a construction site. Thoughts?"
(Yes. Merry Xmas, Rapha. lol)

NON~ALCOHOLIC
quarta-feira, 20 de janeiro de 2016
Yo!
Preciso voltar no Canvas e pedir a receita! huhuhu~ ♥
